Jaasir Linger
Jaasir Linger’s installations incorporate photographs and videos to showcase everyday life, with a special emphasis on his Surinamese roots and the Afro-Surinamese Winti religion. In the project Hier praten we liever niet over (‘We’d rather not talk about that’) he investigates the negative associations with Winti. Jaasir used the installation he made for Refresh Amsterdam in the Amsterdam Museum to film modern Winti rituals.
